Buyer evidence checklist
Twenty questions. Take them to any supplier — including us.
This list is not a sales document. It is the set of questions a professional buyer should be able to ask any hair manufacturer and receive a documented answer to. Print it, send it, score the replies. If we cannot answer a line, we would rather you knew before the order than after it.
If it is not written, it is not agreed.
- Can you give me the product specification in writing before I pay?
- What weight, length and length-tolerance are you committing to?
- What is the drawn ratio, and how is it measured?
- Is there an approved master sample, and do you retain one?
Origin claims are cheap. Ask how they are controlled.
- What raw-material category is this, and is that written on the order sheet?
- Where was it collected, and through whom?
- Is material from different sources segregated, and at what stage?
- If you cannot get the same source next time, what will you tell me?
Most repeat-order failures live here.
- Is there a master colour reference I approve, and is it kept?
- What lightening or processing route is used, and is it recorded?
- What are the seam, width, tip weight and dimensional tolerances?
- Which construction checks are performed, and by whom?
The difference between a vendor and a manufacturer.
- Does my order carry a batch identification I can quote back to you?
- Can I see photographs, video or a sample from my actual production batch before dispatch?
- Is there a QC record for that batch, and can I have it?
- If I reorder in a year, what document makes it the same product?
Agree the bad day while everyone is having a good day.
- If a batch is wrong, what is the reporting process and the time window?
- Who investigates, and what production record is checked?
- What is the remedy — replacement, credit, rework — and under which terms?
- Will you put that pathway in the commercial terms, not just in a message?
A supplier who answers with adjectives — premium, best, top grade — has answered nothing. A supplier who answers with a document, a tolerance or a record has told you how the fiftieth order will go. Count documented answers, not enthusiasm.
