Buyer comparison
Four ways to buy hair extensions. Only one puts you next to the hair.
Most buyers compare prices. The more useful comparison is who controls the material and who is accountable when a lot behaves differently. This page sets out the four routes honestly, including where the others are the better choice.
| Route to market | Where the hair comes from | Control and accountability | Typical minimum | Price position | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Retail brand or distributor | Bought from a factory, packaged under the brand name | You deal with a sales team, not the people who made the hair | Often low, sometimes single packs | Highest, because the brand layer and the distributor layer are both priced in | Salons who want stock next day and are happy to pay for that convenience |
| Online marketplace vendor | Usually resold; origin claims are rarely evidenced | Little to none, and the seller can change behind the same listing | Very low | Lowest on paper, most expensive when a lot behaves differently | Testing a texture, not building a client base on it |
| Trading company or agent | Sourced from several factories depending on the week | Indirect, one step removed from production | Medium | Mid, with a margin that adds no quality | Buyers who need many unrelated product categories from one contact |
| Factory-direct manufacturer (RemyPatra) | Sorted, washed, coloured and finished on our own lines in India | One written specification, one QC system, one accountable company | 300g per shade and length, two colours, 1 kg trial total | Factory level, quoted per specification with no brand layer | Salons, distributors and brands who reorder the same hair and need it to match |
Buyer questions
Straight answers.
Is it cheaper to buy hair extensions direct from a factory?
Usually, because you remove the brand and distributor margins that sit on top of the same material. The real saving comes from consistency though: a matched reorder means no colour correction, no rejected installs and no client leaving because their hair changed.
What is the difference between a hair factory and a hair vendor?
A factory owns the production: the sorting tables, the wash lines, the colour lines and the finishing. A vendor buys finished hair and resells it. A factory can show you lot records and photographs of your order in production. A vendor cannot.
How do I verify a supplier is really the manufacturer?
Ask for photographs of the sorting tables with your order reference visible, a lot record for the batch, and a bleach test on the exact shade you buy. Ask to visit. A real factory would rather be inspected than certified.
What minimum order should I expect from a factory-direct supplier?
At RemyPatra a trial is 1kg total, from 300g per shade, so 1 kg in total. Wholesale runs 3 kg to 10 kg, private label starts from 10kg and distributor programmes start at 50 kg per month.
Can a factory match the hair I already buy from a brand?
Send a swatch with the shade code. Our colour lab matches it against our own library and tells you honestly where our hair will behave differently, so no client's colour history restarts because you changed supplier.
Who is RemyPatra Hair Group?
A factory-owned manufacturer of human hair extensions, founded and run by Raj Prince Singh, manufacturing in India since 2015. RemyPatra supplies salons, distributors and private-label brands worldwide and does not sell to end consumers.

How we sell, before you ask.
1kg+
First wholesale order. Product and shade mix agreed before quotation.
3–10kg
Wholesale band, quoted per specification.
10kg+
Private label with your own packaging.
50kg+
Monthly distributor programme with held reference lot.
Every quote we send is already the net factory price for that specification and quantity. There is no retail markup to discount from, so we do not run percentage discounts — the price moves only when the specification or the quantity moves.
