Sequence it properly
Phase one: one origin, one construction, four shades, two lengths. Prove the reorder matches. Phase two: add lengths, then shades, then a second construction. Phase three: packaging and private label at scale.
Brands that launch twenty SKUs at once cannot diagnose failures, because everything is new at once.
Shade discipline is the moat
Clients forgive slow shipping. They do not forgive a shade that changed between orders. Hold a physical reference set, order against it, and require your supplier to record lots against it.
This single discipline separates brands that survive year three from brands that quietly disappear.
Choose a backend that will not become a competitor
Check whether your supplier sells retail into your market. If they do, your customer list is an asset to them. Ours is a fixed rule: we supply the hair, you own the client. We do not build a retail brand against you.
Private label starts at 10kg with us specifically so a serious young brand can begin without warehouse risk.
Buyer Questions
How many shades should I launch with?
Four to six, proven over three reorders, before extending the range.
Will you supply my competitor?
We supply many brands, but we never share your specifications, volumes, packaging or client information. Confidentiality is contractual.
