What private label actually includes
Your packaging, your shade codes, your weft or bond labelling, produced to a specification you approve and shipped under your name. What it does not include is a different factory: your product is made on the same line as ours, to the same standard, with your identity applied.
Our programme starts at 10kg, which is the point at which custom labelling and packaging stop being uneconomic for both sides.
Get the shade architecture right before the first order
A first range fails more often on shade strategy than on hair quality. Twelve well-chosen shades that cover the bookings your target salons actually take will outsell forty shades that look impressive on a website and tie your capital up in dead stock.
Decide early whether you are building rooted and melted shades — they sell strongly, but they carry more production variables and more reorder risk than solids.
Reorder consistency is the whole brand
Your customers will forgive a lead time. They will not forgive a shade that moved. Every batch should carry a lot record so a reorder can be matched to the batch your customer approved, and your shade codes should map to those lots in your own system from day one.
This is the single operational discipline that separates a brand that compounds from one that churns customers every season.
Mixing formats: wefts, K-Tips and rows
Genius Wefts and hand-tied rows serve row-install stylists; K-Tips serve strand-by-strand work. Carrying both from one manufacturer means the shades match across formats, which matters enormously when a stylist blends a K-Tip perimeter with a wefted row.
If you source formats from different factories to save a margin point, you will spend that saving on colour complaints.
Lead times and cashflow
Plan a first production run as a project, not a purchase: reference approval, swatch approval, production, packaging, freight. Ask for each stage to be dated in writing on the quote and hold the supplier to those dates on the first order, because the first order tells you what every later one will look like.
Keep the first range narrow and the second order fast. A tight range that reorders monthly builds a brand faster than a broad one that sits.
Buyer Questions
What is the private label minimum?
10kg, which is where custom packaging, labelling and shade codes become viable. Standard wholesale under our own specification starts at 300g per shade with a 1kg total order.
Can I private label K-Tips and Genius Wefts together?
Yes, and it is the sensible route — sourcing both formats from one factory keeps shades consistent when a stylist blends them on the same head.
Do you sell to other brands in my market?
We manufacture for multiple clients, and we will tell you plainly what exclusivity we can and cannot offer on a given shade or construction before you commit.
