Quality Guide · Buyer Education
Chinese hair extensions quality: what actually decides it.
This is not a page about one country being bad. Excellent hair and disappointing hair both ship from every sourcing market on earth. What changes the outcome is the raw material, how strictly lots are kept apart, and whether anything was used to hide the ends. Here is how to check all three.
- Coating is the single most common reason hair looks perfect on arrival and fails by month three.
- Over mixed lots cannot be corrected later. Two donors with different cuticle direction will always fight each other.
- Double drawn or single drawn matters more to your stylist than any grade label.
- A clarifying wash and a bleach test cost almost nothing and tell you more than a certificate.

Setting a higher standard.
Our purpose is to set a higher standard for professional hair extensions — exceptional hair, uncompromising consistency and effortless partnership for the world's finest salons. True quality is the confidence of receiving the same excellence, time after time.
We build enduring relationships through discretion, empathy, accountability and integrity, protecting the reputation behind every salon we serve. We shape our craft around our partners and their ambitions, never the other way around.
RemyPatra Hair Group
How we supply it.
The coating test
Wash a strand twice with a clarifying shampoo and dry it without product. If the feel drops sharply, the shine was added rather than grown. Our hair is sold uncoated, so what you touch on day one is what your client touches in month six.
The lot discipline test
Ask how many donors are in one bundle and how lots are separated. We sort by hand and keep lots apart through colouring, because mass mixing is where consistency dies. What you approved is what arrives, every time.
The colour test
Lift one strand two levels. Uncoated, cuticle aligned hair lifts evenly and tones cleanly. Stripped and recoloured hair goes patchy and turns brassy at the ends. This is the test your colourist will run anyway.
Buyer Questions
Straight answers.
Are Chinese hair extensions good quality?
Some are very good and some are poor, which is true of every sourcing country including ours. Quality is decided by the raw hair that went in and by how tightly the lots were kept separate, not by the flag on the box. Judge the lot, not the country.
Why does the hair feel perfect for two months and then tangle?
That pattern usually means coated hair. A silicone finish hides mixed cuticle direction and thin ends beautifully until the coating washes out. Strip a strand with a clarifying wash before you approve a supplier and you will see the real hair.
Is processed hair the same as Remy hair?
No. Remy means the cuticle runs one direction, root to tip, across the whole bundle. Heavily processed hair can be stripped, recoloured and coated so it looks similar in the bag. The difference appears at the third or fourth colour service.
How do I test quality before committing to a large order?
Take 300g per shade (1kg total) in the two shades you sell most, that is 1kg total. Clarify it, wash it ten times, bleach a strand, install it on a real client. Any supplier confident in the hair will encourage that test.

Why we do not sell 100g trial bundles
We have deliberately moved away from the 100–200g sample model. A single bundle is installed on one or two clients, so one experience becomes the whole judgement of the product. It shows nothing about how a shade repeats, how two batches compare, or how the hair behaves after repeated washing in a working salon.
A 1kg commercial trial covers roughly ten to twelve client applications across two shades. It gives you feedback from paying clients, a view of consistency across a meaningful quantity, and a proper read on how the product performs in your market. The hair in a 1kg trial is taken from the same sorting tables as a 20kg production run, so there is no separate sample standard to be disappointed by later.
We are the manufacturer, not a trading desk placing bundles with twenty buyers at once. We work with established salons, extension specialists, distributors and brands who already know their methods, lengths and shades, and who want one accountable source instead of a continuous supplier search.
