Australia · Import guide
Importing hair extensions into Australia.
Buying direct from a factory is only cheaper if the import side is straightforward. This is the plain version of what an Australian salon or brand deals with, and what we put in the box so your broker and your accountant both have what they need. It is general guidance, not tax advice, so confirm your own position with your accountant or customs broker.
- Commercial imports are made on your ABN. GST is generally payable at the border and, if you are GST registered, normally claimable in your BAS.
- Every box travels with a commercial invoice, packing list and the written specification for the lot.
- Air freight is usually three to six days door to door to the major capitals, longer to Darwin and remote areas.
- Tracking and documents are sent the day the shipment leaves.

How we supply it.
What you need before the first order
An ABN, a delivery address that can receive a commercial consignment, and a contact for the courier or broker. For larger or sea shipments most buyers use a customs broker.
What should be in the box
A commercial invoice matching the payment, a packing list with weights per shade and length, and the specification sheet for the lot. If a supplier cannot produce a specification sheet, that is the signal, not the price.
What to check on arrival
Weigh the lot wet and dry, check the shade against your held reference piece, then run the ten wash test on a strand before it goes near a client.
Why direct import is worth it
Buying from a local reseller means paying a margin on top of a factory price. Importing yourself moves that margin into your salon, provided the supplier is actually the manufacturer.
Buyer Questions
Straight answers.
Do I need an ABN to import hair extensions?
For a commercial import, yes, imports are made on your ABN. Confirm your own GST position with your accountant.
Is GST payable on hair extensions imported into Australia?
GST is generally payable at the border on commercial imports and is normally claimable if you are GST registered. Your accountant or broker can confirm for your situation.
Do you handle the export paperwork?
Yes. The commercial invoice, packing list and specification sheet are prepared and travel with the shipment, and tracking is sent the day it leaves.
How long does freight take?
Usually three to six days door to door by air to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, and four to seven days to Darwin and some regional areas.
What is the minimum order?
The first wholesale order starts from 1kg total, with the product and shade mix agreed before quotation. Wholesale terms apply from 3kg per order. Private label and OEM start at 10kg.
Are you the manufacturer or a trading company?
We own the Indian factory. Sorting, washing, colouring and weft finishing happen on our own lines, and our own quality control checks each lot before it is packed for export.

Can Australian salons buy Genius Weft direct?
Yes. You buy direct from our factory in India, in US dollars from the public price list. GST and any import charges are paid on arrival in Australia.
Is Genius Weft good for fine hair?
Often, yes. The seam is thin and flat and sits close to the head, so it suits clients who find thicker machine wefts too bulky.

Slavic & Russian hair · Australian salons
Baby-soft Slavic-look hair, made in our own factory.
Salons in Australian salons have learned that much of the hair sold as Russian or Slavic is not from Russia. It is often coloured in Asia and relabelled by traders. Our Slavic-look range is made by us, from fine baby virgin hair, coloured slowly with Italian methods, and sold honestly as a look, never a fake origin. We already supply salons and distributors who want Russian hair in the USA, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Scandinavia and Australia, in soft natural browns, cool browns, ash, pearl and blonde.
| Length | 30% double drawn | 45% double drawn | 55% double drawn |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16″ | $3,100 | $3,310 | $3,530 |
| 18″ | $3,270 | $3,550 | $3,830 |
| 20″ | $3,670 | $3,920 | $4,210 |
| 22″ | $3,980 | $4,280 | $4,610 |
Is it Russian origin?
No. It gives the fine texture and cool ash, pearl and beige tones of Slavic hair, and we name it honestly so your salon never repeats a claim it cannot prove.
Which formats?
Genius Wefts, K-tips, tape-ins, hand-tied rows and bulk, from 300g per shade.
Can I see it first?
Yes. Order a sample kit and test it next to the Slavic hair you use today.

Professional ordering
Start your first wholesale order.
Professional salons already know their preferred methods, colours, lengths and client demand. Start with the volume your salon already needs for Australia.
Independent salons
1kg
Start with the product and shade mix your current clients already need.
Growing salons
1–2kg
Build a working colour and length range around regular appointments.
Established high-demand salons
3–5kg+
Plan repeat supply against your monthly installation volume.
The smallest professional order is 1kg total. Product and shade mix are agreed before quotation. Wholesale supply is quoted to one written specification.
Why we do not sell 100g trial bundles
We have deliberately moved away from the 100–200g sample model. A single bundle is installed on one or two clients, so one experience becomes the whole judgement of the product. It shows nothing about how a shade repeats, how two batches compare, or how the hair behaves after repeated washing in a working salon.
A 1kg commercial trial covers roughly ten to twelve client applications across two shades. It gives you feedback from paying clients, a view of consistency across a meaningful quantity, and a proper read on how the product performs in your market. The hair in a 1kg trial is taken from the same sorting tables as a 20kg production run, so there is no separate sample standard to be disappointed by later.
We are the manufacturer, not a trading desk placing bundles with twenty buyers at once. We work with established salons, extension specialists, distributors and brands who already know their methods, lengths and shades, and who want one accountable source instead of a continuous supplier search.

Every quote we send is already the net factory price for that specification and quantity. There is no retail markup to discount from, so we do not run percentage discounts — the price moves only when the specification or the quantity moves.
Tell us your kilos per month when you write. It is the one line that changes the quote. Express air freight is usually 3–6 days door to door.
