Temple Hair · Collection

Temple hair is decided long before it reaches a factory.

Hair given at an Indian temple is a donation of faith, and it is handled by a chain of people before anyone processes it. What that chain does in the first few days decides everything that can be done with the hair afterwards. Kept whole, roots and ends the same way round, separated by natural colour, it becomes the finest raw material in the industry. Swept together, stored damp for weeks and mixed across sources, it becomes the reason people say Indian hair is inconsistent.

  • Collected from smaller temple collections where lots can be kept whole rather than baled together.
  • Roots and ends kept the same way round, which is what cuticle alignment actually means.
  • Separated by natural colour before washing: brown lots for colour development, darker lots for natural shades.
  • Sorted by length and texture on our own tables, not blended to hit a weight.
  • Each lot logged, so a reorder can be traced to a comparable collection.

RemyPatra Hair Group

How we supply it.

Why volume works against quality

At the largest collections the sheer quantity makes separation impossible: fallen hair and cut hair travel together, and lots are sold on as bulk. We work at a scale we can control so that the sorting can actually be done by hand.

Colour separation comes first

Brown natural hair lifts cleanly to light shades. Dark hair forced to blonde with fast, harsh bleaching breaks down and gives up within months. Choosing the right starting colour at collection is a decision chemistry cannot undo later.

What washing should and should not do

A gentle wash removes dust and oils. It should not strip the cuticle or leave a coating behind to fake softness. Hair that squeaks and shines the day it arrives, then dulls after two washes, was finished, not cleaned.

From collection to your order

Sorted lots go to bulk, or into wefts, tips and hand-tied rows on our own lines. Either way the lot behind your order is recorded, so the next one can be matched to it.

Buyer Questions

Straight answers.

Is temple hair ethically collected?

Hair is given voluntarily at temples as a religious offering, and temples sell it on. We buy from collections rather than from donors, and we do not claim to pay individuals for their hair, because that is not how the chain works.

Is all temple hair single donor?

No. Some lots are single or few donor because they are kept bound as cut; others are commercially sorted and multi-donor. We label lots as what they are instead of applying the most attractive term to everything.

Why is some temple hair inconsistent?

Because of what happens in the first days after collection: mixed lots, mixed direction, damp storage and blending across sources. The raw material is not the problem; the handling usually is.

Can I see the collection and sorting?

Buyers can see production and sorting on video,, and sample kits let a buyer handle the hair before committing.

Are you the manufacturer or a trading company?

We own the Indian factory. Sorting, washing, colouring and weft finishing happen on our own lines, and our own quality control checks each lot before it is packed for export.

What is the minimum order?

The first wholesale order starts from 1kg total, with the product and shade mix agreed before quotation. Wholesale terms apply from 3kg per order. Private label and OEM start at 10kg.

Why we do not sell 100g trial bundles

We have deliberately moved away from the 100–200g sample model. A single bundle is installed on one or two clients, so one experience becomes the whole judgement of the product. It shows nothing about how a shade repeats, how two batches compare, or how the hair behaves after repeated washing in a working salon.

A 1kg commercial trial covers roughly ten to twelve client applications across two shades. It gives you feedback from paying clients, a view of consistency across a meaningful quantity, and a proper read on how the product performs in your market. The hair in a 1kg trial is taken from the same sorting tables as a 20kg production run, so there is no separate sample standard to be disappointed by later.

We are the manufacturer, not a trading desk placing bundles with twenty buyers at once. We work with established salons, extension specialists, distributors and brands who already know their methods, lengths and shades, and who want one accountable source instead of a continuous supplier search.
